Hey what’s up world? First of all let me start with I love it here and the food is so good I’m coming back fat. Everyone here is super nice and very open. It seems like everyone is just here to have a good time. Even though it was a journey to get here, I finally made it. Before I tell you guys about my week let me start with getting here.
So it all started with the stupid airport rule with 50 pounds max; but, how do live for 4 months with that little of stuff? But that was whatever because I just carried 2 carry-ons and it wasn’t even a problem. After a nice 8 hour flight I arrived in London and got on my next plane. Super tired I went to sleep before take-off and woke up 3 hours later still on the ground. Yeah that’s right the plane broke so I had to stay the night in London and miss my connecting flight. The next day we finally left and they didn’t book my connecting flight to Arhus from Copenhagen. So once I got my flight for that I made it to city. So now im taking the city transit and I was the bus driver which way to catch the bus and he says catch this one (I wish I knew he didn’t speak English before). After finding out I was going the wrong way I got off the bus got on a new one and found a new bus driver that actually spoke English and brought me to the school. I think that whole day was the best part of the trip. Not.
Anyway so this week was more of a meet and greet. The first morning the whole school met in the gym for some physical activity. It was very easy just some games and dancing so people could meet each other. After that we had an assembly where we met all the teachers (I still can’t pronounce their names). Then it was time for lunch and then the best part of the day handball. Practice was good after the coaches walked up to me and was like ``you are from Canada, they have handball in Canada``. They then told me I was a good player and that were impressed. So the first practice went pretty well. Tuesday was almost the same thing except we had practice in the morning and we went for a walk around the city and went for a picnic. Wednesday we had the option to go for a jog or to go to yoga. Not wanting to run I went yoga but I don’t think I’ll be doing that ever again. Later that day we found that we were going camping for Thursday night and that there was an amazing race and we had to bike all over the city. Thursday was super fun and it was good because we were in teams so I met a few more people. Friday morning we woke up and it was raining pretty hard but we had leave so we could meet the other teams for breakfast so we biked in the rain. After breakfast we bike like 6-7kms in the rain it was fun. After we all went swimming and the teachers organized a welcome dinner for us with a little party after. All’s I can say is Danish people party hard.
That pretty much sums up my week Saturday and Sunday are just rest days so ill work out a little. Next week will be more handball but I don’t think the school seriously starts until the week after. And this week I should be practicing with a club team. Stay tuned to find out how it goes. Take care.
